High Contrast Black and White Toys For Infants

Sophie the Giraffe is cute and adorably squeaky but, um....your two week old or six week old won't be ready to grasp and squeeze and chew and shake toys for awhile. So how can you play with your brand spankin' new baby when all she seems to do is sit and stare (and sleep and poop and cry)?

Visual play! I shared in a recent blog article about how and why visual play with your new baby is important for learning and development. (Missed it? Click here to read A New Parent's Guide to Newborn Vision). So today let's look at some of my favorite toys for newborn visual play. As a mama and pediatric Occupational Therapist, I've given these a test drive and they get my thumbs and some little tiny baby thumbs up ;)
